Seasonal Information

 May

We started the spring with a good amount of precipitation and the reservoirs are all full in our area, however, except for the rain showers in our area in the last few days, we have started to dry out some. Therefore we felt that it was pertinent to discuss Action Lawn Care's recommendations for watering. For the health of the lawn we would prefer to see our customers provide fewer, deeper watering sessions at 2-3 per week. We suggest providing ½ to ¾ of an inch of water with each session, or a total of 1 to 1 ½ inches per week. We do not suggest watering every day as it will encourage a shallower root system, and therefore less drought resistance.

Watering between the hours of 4 a.m. and 7 a.m. is suggested when evaporation loss is lowest and temperatures are the coolest. If you have any questions regarding these watering suggestions please feel free to contact our office.

ACTION LAWN IS ON THE LOOKOUT FOR THE FIRST SIGNS OF LAWN DISEASE

Generally May in our area is the month in which the conditions are right for the onset of lawn diseases such as Rhizoctonia and Dollar Spot. Our ten application Estate Lawn Care program includes three preventative applications of fungicide to prevent and control the spread of these diseases in our lawns. If you are on our Turf Development Lawn Care program and have had an issue in the past with lawn disease, or would like to take preventative measures to keep lawn disease from occurring, please contact our office for pricing of this program for your lawn.
